We put the world on wheels!

When you decide to visit the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, you will be visiting Southeast Michigan, the area where Detroit is located. This part of Michigan is the home of auto companies responsible for building close to a billion automobiles and trucks during the last century. The significance of this vast production is commemorated all across the area by museums large and small, historic houses and sites plus all kinds of automobile-themed events. So, if you are visiting our museum, we're sure that you'll also be interested in visiting other places devoted to automotive history in this area.

To preserve, interpret and promote this remarkable history, the United States Congress in 1998 created the Automobile National Heritage Area, also known as Motor Cities. Virtually every public museum and historic site is a member of Motor Cities, which is supported by all the major auto-related firms and the United Auto Workers Union. Learn more about automotive history in southeast Michigan, and about Motor Cities by visiting Automobile National Heritage Area.
