2004 Acorn Tour

Revel in Oakland County's autumn splendor 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sunday, October 10 with the Acorn Tour, a scenic excursion exclusively for auto enthusiasts with vehicles of any make built before 1955. This year's route features stops at:
- the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills;
- the Village of Clarkston; and
- Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester.

The Acorn Tour gets rolling
at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum. Enjoy a continental
breakfast while strolling the Museum's three stories
featuring vehicles bearing the Chrysler, Dodge,
Plymouth, Jeep®, DeSoto, Nash, Hudson, Rambler
and Willys marques. Take in the Museum's interactive
displays, historical exhibits and short movies
as well as the GIft Shop, brimming with exclusive
and hard-to-find collectibles celebrating the
American heritage of Chrysler.
Depart the Museum for a leisurely drive along colorful, paved roadways to downtown Clarkston. Savor a wonderful brunch at the Clarkston Café. Bring your walking shoes for a stroll through historic neighborhoods and tranquil Depot Park. Uncover extraordinary treasures in the village's quaint shops.
Then travel from Clarkston to Meadow Brook Hall, the former residence of Oakland University founders Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of automobile pioneer John Dodge, and her second husband, lumber broker Alfred G. Wilson. Explore the 110-room mansion, inspired by English country manor houses of the Tudor period, renowned for its fine craftsmanship, exquisite architectural detailing and grand scale. End the tour by toasting the day's adventures at a special reception.
Convenient parking is available at all Acorn Tour
stops and a suggested route of paved roads between
destinations will be provided. Tour participants
are welcome to travel in a caravan or solo, according
to preference. The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is
located at the corner of Featherstone and Squirrel
Roads on Chrysler's Auburn Hills campus. From
I-75, take exit 78 (Chrysler Drive) and follow
the Museum signs.
Cost for the Acorn Tour is $30 per person, payable at registration by Wednesday, October 6.
