Rising three stories on Chrysler's
Auburn Hills, MI campus, the 55,000 square foot
Walter P. Chrysler Museum houses production and
concept vehicles showcasing the corporation's
American heritage. Cars are interspersed with
interactive displays and exhibits illustrating
the automaker's impact on American culture and
the industry. The museum features:
- 65+ vehicles
restored to original condition ranging from
a 1903 Rambler Model "C" to a 1999 Plymouth
Prowler
- interactive exhibits
highlighting Chrysler's engineering and design
firsts in brake systems, aerodynamics, power
steering, the platform team design concept and
more
- a 125-seat theater offering
continuously running short films spotlighting
the life and times of Walter P. Chrysler, muscle
cars of the 1950s-1960s and operations within
Chrysler Technical Center
- life-size dioramas recreating
Walter Chrysler's workshop and office and a
WWII battle scene
- interactive computer
kiosks exploring the 1920s-1980s including vintage
news footage, classic commercials and audio
clips
- a Gift Shop stocked with
a wide range of automotive, exclusive and hard-to-find
collectibles and affordable souvenirs.
Museum tours are self-guided, though guided
tours are available for groups of all sizes at no extra charge with advance registration.
